Pastor Josh accepted Christ at the age of five, at Liberty Baptist Church, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, where his father was the pastor. As a Junior in High School, he felt the call to surrender to the ministry. Immediately after high school, Josh married his wife, Christi, and they moved to Wichita, Kansas, to serve in the US Air Force, having recently retired after 23 years of service. Josh and Christi have two children and one grandson.

Pastor Josh started his ministry journey as a youth pastor in and around the Oklahoma City area, serving and training youth for over 28 years. In 2016, Josh accepted the call to serve as Senior Pastor of 40th Street Baptist Church. When he is not working at the church, he enjoys spending time with his family, taking adventures with his lovely wife, and finding ways to stay in shape while eating ice cream and Mexican food. Pastor Josh loves the Lord with all his heart and seeks to live out 1 Corinthians 13:13 in every area of his life.

Worship Leader

Hannah Kinsey

Hannah has always been fascinated in all things music.  She started singing the second she learned to talk.

Hannah accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was five years old and later felt Him calling her to use her musical talents to further His kingdom.

Hannah received a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocal Performance from Southern Nazarene University.  She sings in a variety of genres, including jazz, classical and southern gospel. I also play the piano, clarinet and accordion.  Aside from music, Hannah enjoys spending time with family, her dog, Dolly, reading a good book and coffee.

Elder

Mike Shelton

Mike gave his heart to the Lord when he was 12 years old, at First Baptist Church, Petersburg, Texas.  Mike was called to be a pastor in 1966, while he was a freshman in college at Oklahoma Baptist University.

In 1967, Mike married his best friend and life-long partner, Kathy, who went to be with the Lord in 2012. Mike and Kathy were blessed with six wonderful children (One who immediately went to be with the Lord).

Mike joined 40th Street Baptist Church in 2019 and was given the privilege of taking the roll as an Elder of the church in 2020, where He continues to serve in whatever capacity is needed. Mike gives all thanks and praise to His risen Lord.

Chairman of the Deacons

Darin Kinsey

Darin was 11 years old when he came to know Christ as his Savior. In fact, Darin has fond memories of a man named Wallace Hampton who led him to Christ.

Darin joined the Marines where he was meritoriously promoted and served honorably through multiple conflicts.

In 1989, Darin met his wife, Marcie, just before being deployed, and were married in 1991.  God has given them two beautiful daughters, who love the Lord as well.

Darin was not expecting to come to 40th Street Baptist Church, but after visiting one Sunday, he felt the Lord tugging on his heart, telling him 40th Street was where he and his family were supposed to serve.  They obeyed the Lord and it has been such a blessing and very rewarding to each of them.

Darin did not expect to become a Deacon, in fact, he had not even thought about it. Darin's heart was to serve and help however he could. Pastor Josh asked him to consider being a Deacon and it was then he felt God calling him to this service. Darin is very honored to serve the Lord, our church, and our pastor at 40th Street, while still learning and growing in Christ.  Darin is excited to see what God is going to do at 40th Street, as he and his family continue on this journey.

Deacon

Pete Randell

Pete was raised in a Christian home, in Traverse City, MI.  At the age of 19, Pete accepted Christ as his Savior. Two years later in 1987, he married his wife, Sherri.  Pete and Sherri have two sons, Matthew and Nathan, who are now married with families of their own.  Pete continues to serve the the Lord, focusing on the audio/visual ministry at 40th Street.  He also loves to sing. On September 9, 2018, he was ordained as a Deacon. Pete loves the Lord with all his heart and is excited to serve at 40th Street as long as the Lord allows.  "God has blessed me beyond anything I can think or imagine!"

Church Secretary

Alicia Smith

Alicia Smith was saved at Cedar Hill Baptist Youth Camp at the age of 11. She has been a member of 40th Street since she was in the 8th grade. She enjoys serving both in the community & at 40th Street. Not only does Alicia serve 40th Street as secretary, she also helps any where she is needed.  She truly sees 40th Street as her home and loves being a part of this wonderful church family.

Food Ministry Director

Sherri Randell

Sherri has a desire to serve the Lord by meeting people’s needs. What better opportunity than to be able to feed the hungry?! Being a food ministry director is so much more than putting a meal on a plate.  It’s allowing family and friends a time of fellowship and bonding.  Sherri has been working in this area of ministry for over 30 years.

In 1972, Sherri asked Jesus into her heart.  Growing up, although things were difficult at times in the home, her momma taught her to love and serve others.  The food ministry allows her to use her gifts in unique ways. She is honored to be a part of such a sweet church as 40th and looks forward to seeing the Lord grow this church family, not only in number, but in a personal way.
