Pastor Josh and Christi have been at 40th for over 5 years. They have been married for over 32 years and have 2 wonderful children and 1 grandson. They have served the Lord faithfully in bi-vocational ministry for over 28 years and love nothing more than to see God work in people’s lives. Pastor Josh is also an Air Force Veteran with over 23 years of service to our country. When he is not working at the church he enjoys spending time with his family, taking adventures with his lovely wife and finding ways to stay in shape while eating ice cream and Mexican food.
Josh accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 5 at Liberty Baptist Church in Pauls Valley, OK where his dad was the pastor. As a Junior in High School he surrendered to the ministry and after getting off active duty, he became a Youth Pastor at his local church. This began a wonderful journey of ministering to teenagers. In 2016 God called him and Christi 40th Street Baptist Church, where he has been the Lead Pastor. He loves the Lord with all his heart and seeks to live out 1 Corinthians 13:13 in every area of his life.

I have always been fascinated in all things music and started singing the second I learned to talk.
I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was five years old and later felt Him calling me to use my musical talents to further His kingdom.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocal Performance from Southern Nazarene University. I sing in a variety of genres, including jazz, classical and southern gospel. I also play the piano, clarinet and accordion.
Aside from music, I enjoy spending time with family, reading a good book and coffee.
Elder
Mike Shelton
I was saved at the age of 12 at FBC Petersburg, TX. I was called to be a pastor in 1966 in my freshman year of college at OBU.
The following year I married my best friend and life king partner Kathy. In the years to come we were blessed with 6 wonderful children (1 immediately went to be with the Lord). The love of my life went to be our Savior on September 18, 2012 and I continue to serve Jesus Christ partly in her honor.
I joined 40th Street Baptist Church in 2019 and was given the privilege to be asked to be an Elder of the church in 2020 where i continue to serve in whatever capacity is needed. All thanks and praise go to my risen Lord.

I was 11 years old when I came to know Christ as my savior. I remember Wallace Hampton led me to Christ.
I joined the Marines where I was meritoriously promoted and served honorably through multiple conflicts.
In 1989, I met my wife Marcie and we celebrated 32 years together on September 16, 2021, and God has given us 2 beautiful daughters who love the Lord as well.
We were not expecting to come to 40th Street Baptist Church, but after visiting one Sunday, I felt the Lord tugging on my heart and telling me this is where we were supposed to serve. We obeyed the Lord and it has been such a blessing and very rewarding.
I did not expect to become a Deacon and I had not even thought about it. I was there to serve and help however I could. Pastor Josh asked me to consider being a Deacon and I felt God was calling me to this service. I am very honored to serve the Lord, our church, and our pastor at 40th Street. I am still learning and still growing in Christ. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in our Church as we continue on this journey. Our mission and my goal is to Lead others in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Deacon
Pete Randell
I was raised in a Christian home, and at the age of 19, I accepted Christ as my Savior. Two years later, I married my wife, Sherri, and 10 months later, we had our first child, Matthew. 3 years later, we had our second child, Nathan. We have continued to serve the the Lord through all these years, and on September 9, 2018, I was ordained as a Deacon. I love the Lord with all my heart and I will continue to serve Him the rest of my days. He has blessed me beyond anything I can think or imagine!
Food Ministry Director
Sherri Randell
Sherri has a desire to serve the Lord by meeting people’s needs. What better opportunity than to be able to feed the hungry?! Being a food ministry director is so much more than putting a meal on a plate. It’s allowing family and friends a time of fellowship and bonding. Sherri has been working in this area of ministry for over 30 years.
In 1972, Sherri asked Jesus into her heart. Growing up, although things were difficult at times in the home, her momma taught her to love and serve others. The food ministry allows her to use her gifts in unique ways. She is honored to be a part of such a sweet church as 40th and looks forward to seeing the Lord grow this church family not only in number but in a desire to know the Lord in a personal way.
